Watch Garin Cecchini's first MLB homer

The (future?) Red Sox third baseman went deep for the first time while facing the Rays at Fenway on Wednesday.

Garin Cecchini is with the Red Sox thanks to the power of September's expanded rosters setup, and he made the most of it on Wednesday night by collecting the first major-league home run of his career.

Cecchini is now batting .313/.450/.563 with a single homer and a double after seven games and 20 plate appearances in the bigs. Let's not get too excited yet, because it's a week's worth of games and his Triple-A numbers didn't suggest he's definitely ready, but still: enjoy the moment, because Cecchini can only get his first major-league home run the one time.

If you want to get some kind of excitement going regardless of the above warning, you could focus on how Will Middlebrooks hasn't hit at all in 2014 after a rough 2013, isn't planning to head to winter ball like the Sox would like him to, and that Cecchini has hit .327/.417/.500 since the start of August, between Triple-A and the majors. You know, if you need something to talk about.
