Kansas City and Oakland just started their games, and one is already ahead.
It's pretty simple -- the Mariners must win out and Oakland must lose out in order for the Mariners to win the Wild Card outright. If they go 2-1 and Oakland loses out, they'll play a tiebreaker first. If they go 3-0 and Oakland goes 1-2, tiebreaker again. Kansas City would have to lose out while the Mariners sweep in order for those two to play a tiebreaker.
Hector Noesi is already imploding against the Royals, so it may be down to just Oakland, who sends out Scott Kazmir versus Nick Tepesch.
