Toledo Mud Hens outfield rechristened as The Links at Fifth Third Field

The season over, the Mud Hens have re-purposed their outfield by turning it into a 36-hole course for mini-golf.

You never know what shenanigans a minor league team will pull next. In the case of the Toledo Mud Hens, the Detroit Tigers' Triple-A affiliate, their latest hijinks involves their turning Fifth Third Field into a 36-hole putt-putt golf course.

The Mud Hen's outfield has been re-named in the manner reminiscent of a PGA Tour course - 'The Links at Fifth Third Field, presented by Hall of Framers & Meyer Hill Lynch.'

This is the first time a minor league ballpark has been turned into a mini-golf course. "I always thought it would be interesting to see a natural grass putt-putt course," says Jake Tyler, Sports Turf Manager. "The timing is perfect to create this once in a lifetime opportunity for our community."

All holes are a Par 2 and you are encouraged to use your own putter.

Admission is $15, tee times are available from September 26-28:

Friday, September 26 - 5 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, September 27 - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. & 6 to 10 p.m.

Sunday, September 28 - 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Who plans on getting in 36 holes?

But to be honest, the aerial view doesn't remind me of a Field of Dreams. Maybe a Field of Dongs?
